Kelcy Mohr
Kelcy Mohr started taking dance classes from Miss Julie Keeling as a child and it ignited her passion for dance. She competed through middle and high school with Extreme Athletics and traveled to national events. She was a member of the Kapaun Mt. Carmel pommie squad as well as the Wichita State University Shocker dance team. Kelcy started teaching dance in high school and choreographing for musicals and dance teams. She was a dance major in college and trained at both the University of Kansas and the Wichita State University fine arts programs. She took over Miss Julie’s “Gift of Dance” studio in 2010 alongside her dance bestie Miss Jenna Armagost. With her focus on quality dance training, positive attitudes, family values, and a belief that everyone can be a dancer, she has grown the studio to two locations, both beautiful 5,000 square foot facilities, over 500 students, and an awards winning competitive program.
Kelcy has also been a local performer for over 20 years with her family band, Bucky Fowler & Southern Charm, and many musical theatre productions. In addition to producing a high energy and creative year-end recital, Kelcy works hard year-round to provide great performance opportunities for her students that also benefit the community and her studio. She continues to travel with her competitive team to take master classes from world renowned choreographers and artists to expand her knowledge and continue to grow her studio’s programs.
Kelcy is married to her high school sweetheart, Matthew Mohr who is the CFO at Globe Engineering. They have four beautiful children together and are members of Blessed Sacrament parish in Wichita. Kelcy loves spending time with her kids, her dog Dolly, and playing guitar.
