Platinum Dance Company
Platinum Dance Company is the competitive program at Kelcy’s Dance Studio. It was established in 2012 and our goal is to provide a positive & wholesome environment for young dancers to grow. In addition to helping students take their ability to a whole new level, team participation fosters perseverance, self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills. Competition teams are a lot of fun but a serious commitment! We offer competition team opportunities for dancers ages 5-18!
Elite Visionary Unit
Created in 2022, Elite Visionary Unit is our Pre-Professional Hip Hop and Commercial Dance Company based out of Wichita, Kansas. Our goal is to train dancers of all ages and skill levels in the art of hip hop and further their training through hip hop conventions, masterclasses, community events and competitions. It is our objective to inspire a passion for the art of hip hop and its culture.
Platinum Dance Company and Elite Visionary Unit offers three levels of our competition team. While all three levels of our teams train at Kelcy’s Dance Studio in weekly classes, this will allow our dancers to compete at the novice level, intermediate, as well as advanced.
Competition entry guidelines state:
Novice level is designed for dancers with limited competition experience and/or dancers who take an approximate total of 0-2 hours combined dance classes/rehearsal lessons per week.
Intermediate level is designed for dancers with moderate competition experience and/or dancers who take a total of 2-5 hours of combined dance classes/rehearsal lessons per week.
Advanced level is designed for dancers who display a higher level of technical abilities and skill and/or have significant competition experience. Advanced level dancers generally take a total of 5 or more hours combined dance classes/rehearsal lessons per week.
